[APK-News]Polish Parkour Park Proves Popular!

rssIcon.gif Polish Parkour Park Proves Popular!

On February the 7th in Lodz,

Poland, the opening of the first Parkour Park in Poland (and probably

in Europe) took place. More than 100 people from all over Poland came

to see the place and train together. The Parkour Park located in the

former warehouse on Siewna 15 street is connected with a skatepark and

is filled with handmade obstacles built by local traceurs. The training

lasted for about 5 hours with a pizza break. After everybody had got

too tired to move, there was a beatbox and freestyle show lead by

Michal Simu Filon.

Obviously, the media could not have missed the opportunity and many

crews from various newspapers, television channels, radio stations,

websites etc. came to interview the organizers, as well as the

participants. Unfortunately, all the interviews are in Polish, but if

anybody is interested in reading them, this link (http://www.overground.com.pl/index.php?co=news id=803) will be useful.

Other than that, some photo-stories and video-coverage has been made:

- a video made by a freerunner Robert 'Darth Shade' Zmyslowski (

- a video by website MMLodz.pl (

- photogallery by Piotr 'Jelon' Doryn (http://yelon.wordpress.com/2009/02/09/otwarcie-parkour-parku-zdjecia/)

- photogallery by Red Kite Group (http://rkgroup.eu/gallery/v/album_005/)

in all, the event was very successful despite some problems with

formalities. The Park is now open every day from 5:00 PM and everybody

is welcome to come for training. The entrance fee costs 3 PLN (about

0,80 $).
