[APK-News]Boston College Parkour: "A Liability"

rssIcon.gif Boston College Parkour: "A Liability"

American Parkour has always advocated that traceurs attempt to join and create local communities around the country. However, as many have experienced, sometimes an authoritative organization will stifle the creation of these groups. This is the case that has arisen at Boston College. The independently run, student newspaper, The Heights reports on the situation at hand. BCPK was removed from BC's Student Activities Day for not being a recognized club through the school. While this is a sad occurrence, the article goes on to list that BCPK never actually went through process of becoming a recognized club. We urge everyone in this country to get in contact with any administration that holds jurisdiction over your community. As an art form, parkour seeks to become more recognized as a safe, fun, and healthy activity. Respect yourselves and the places in which you train; this includes the administration. We give our full support to BCPK and only wish that they had gone through the proper routes first. Read the full BCPK article here (http://www.bcheights.com/news/bcpk-seeks-recognition-1.1690246) !
